I know!

It's been a while. May went by like a whirlwind trying to get the end of the school year wrapped up and getting ready for our trip to Minnesota. Most of June and part of July- for a month- Aurah and I went home for a month. It was a great trip and we had so much fun spending time with my family. We went to the Zoo, Nauvoo for a family reunion, and my sister's property up North. In between we had fun relaxing and swimming. We both missed Drew, but had a great time! Since we have been back we have been potty training and swimming. Potty training is highly over rated. I have decided that kids should just come potty trained. I have enjoyed the summer so much and am sad I only have 2 1/2 weeks left. Aurah does pretty good, for a while about 1 accident a day, and the last few days we have had no accidents. I hope it keeps getting better! I am going to post some pictures from our trip!

I forgot we also went to Duluth. This is a picture of Lake Superior from a light house.

Aurah ready for a 4-wheeler ride.

My sister's family eating malts while in Duluth.

My niece and nephews with Aurah. Brock, Riggs, Aurah, Cael, and Hailey.

A huge barge coming into the Duluth Harbor.

Aurah playing in Lake Superior.

The Mississippi in Nauvoo

At Carthage Jail.
The outside of Carthage.
Joseph's, Hyrum's, and Emma's grave.
A picture of Nauvoo while the temple was there. Unfortunately every time I wanted to take a picture of the temple, it was raining, or we had restless kids or adults. It was so neat to be able to do a session. I was in it during the Open House, but had never done any work in it. It was such a great experience to be in the Nauvoo temple with about 50 members of my extended family.
A funny pic of Aurah to show you how crazy she is. Yes that is her in her pajamas with Spiderman sunglasses and reading book! So funny.

At a baby shower of my friends. It was 2 freinds from high school and these are my friends kids with Aurah. Aurah is 2, Aubrey is 1 and Raynee was about 2 months. It was great to see them!

April

Oh how the time flies. Here is what we have been up to in April.
Easter
Of course there was Easter. Aurah really understood the Easter Bunny this year and was excited for him to make a stop at the house.

The second she woke up she was eating candy as you can tell. She loved finding the candy.

All ready for church in our new clothes.
Aurah turns two!
How sad it is that my little baby is two. Aurah loves:
to talk ( my favorite word is bikobikle - motorcycle)
boss people (especially Emmie)
animals
to sing
to do your hair ( and she isn't all that gentle)
dance
feed the ducks
and princesses

For her birthday we started with 2- shaped pancakes,

opened some presents,

went for a ride on her new wheels ( that is seriously how we went- she got ready herself except her outfit and I think her sunglasses were in her purse),

went to Metro Pizza for dinner,

and of course, ate some birthday cake!

The birthday party
The next day was Aurah's big party. We rented a jumpy house which she loved. She kept saying it was Aurah's castle because there were princesses on it. (she doesn't look as happy as she really was because I made her get out of the jump house for the picture.)

She blew out the candles,
ate some cake,

opened presents,

and then crashed. I don't know who was more tired, her or me!
Sesame Street Live!
Last weekend we took Aurah to Sesame Street Live. We had great seats and this is what she looked like the first half. After intermission she got up and danced. She loved it!

First dip of the Season
It was a little cold, but nothing keeps this girl from a chance to get in the pool. She loves to swim.

and last...
A new haircut

She was in the need for a change so I decided to cut her hair off. She looks even bigger than she did before!

California

We love California! We had so much fun. We went with Drew's family to California and Disneyland. We spent part of the day at the beach. Aurah loved it. She'd been there when she was really little, but it has been about a year and a half since we have been back. She didn't want to leave and didn't care that the water was cold.

That would be sand on her eye and not a black eye. That was how much fun she had.
Then off to Disneyland for two days.

The favorite rides were the horses ( i think we went on 3-4 times),

the Storybook ride, the teacups, and Dumbo.
Just a few random pics from the trip. We had such a great time!

A few pics

Aurah loves the park and especially the swings.

We bought her a tennis racket because when we would go play she would want to use ours. She had a great time chasing the balls and even sometimes hitting one! Doesn't she look so big. It makes me sad. Drew loves it that she is becoming more and more independent, but it makes me wonder where my baby went.

For about a year, Aurah has needed breathing treatments when she gets sick. I am so glad that finally she can hold it herself and she isn't afraid of it. She doesn't even cry anymore! Whoohoo!

The Longest Post in the world

Life seems to be crazy busy lately. I thought that I should post since we have done a lot and I really haven't posted since Halloween. This post is long so here you go:

HALLOWEEN

Aurah was a monkey this year. It was just so fitting.

THANKSGIVING

A picture of the girl eating her dinner.

CHRISTMAS
This year we went to Minnesota for Christmas. It was so fun to see family. Aurah did excellent on the plane and I think we watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at least 50 times.

Christmas
Aurah was a opening present pro by the times all our Christmases were over. We had to wake her up at 10:00 because we wanted to open our presents. I am thinking that will be the only year like that for a while.

CHICAGO
We flew into Chicago and the visited with my sister,Debbie, and then drove to Minnesota with her for Christmas. We then drove back and spent about 3 days in the Windy City. It was so cold but we loved it and we can't wait to go back to visit. Next time it will be in the summer we've decided.
Wrigley Field
Soldier Field- home of the Bears

Wolfy's- Drew wanted his Chicago hotdog and he got it. I think we went there two times during our short stay.

Downtown. Just a few scenes while driving downtown.

The Sear's Tower from the street.

The Science and Industry Museum

Walking the streets. This is the big tree they have in the center of the city. My sister said it is a whole bunch of little trees to make the one big one. It was huge!

The "Bean" with the city behind it.

Chicago style pizza. It can't be beat. It was so good and so thick. This is Drew pulling some cheese for Aurah off the pizza.

Seriously 3 inches thick. SOOOO YUMMY!!!!The aquarium. I think this was Aurah's favorite part of the trip. She loves fish so this was the perfect place for her.

She was sitting in this boat singing "Row Row Row Your Boat" No joke. It was hilarious.
MOUNT CHARLESTON
Every year around Christmas time we go to Mount Charleston for breakfast. We love their hot chocolate!

FEEDING THE DUCKS
This is one of Drew's and Aurah's favorite thing to do. They go to Sunset Park with Kallen and feed the ducks. I guess last time they went they were attacked by them and the geese, but they still plan on going again.

THE REBEL GAME
I know it's sad, but this was Aurah's first Rebel basketball game. She loved it and was cheering with the rest of them. We had a great time and they won, so what more do you need?
